I agree with you but retail is going to die eventually anyways- for consoles and PC. Eventually they'll all go to digital dist. so they can kill the trade industry.
You could never trade PC games before. They would always require an authorization code in the old days and what would prevent you from copying the game and the code, then trading the game and still play it? I guess you could do it with a friend that trusted you but otherwise, stores would never let you trade PC games in. There's really little difference now.
His answer to whether the game will live up to the hype is, "I guess so"? Really? Doesn't sound too convincing. Also, this is my third time reading about people not liking the combat system for melee. I'm getting a bit concerned about that.
I too have been playing BF since BF1942 and each one has been different but I'm sorry, there is very little difference from BC2. The graphics are better but that doesn't change much in terms of gameplay. You may want to argue that it does but the instances where it does change things are so few and far between that it's moot. The game types are the same, the physics for the grenades are the same(they float like wadded up paper balls- just like BC2), the destruction is probably ...
What I find sad is that people are so easily satisfied with the same thing over and over just as long as it looks pretty and has marketing dollars behind it. This game might be the most overrated game of the year. It's nothing more than BC2.5 with prone and more vehicles.
I have it on PC and I have no problem finding a match. Maybe it's just on the PS3? I have yet to find a glitch other than the AI being too stupid to follow or go through a hole in the floor.
I have this game and it's better than a 6. I'd give it a 7.5-8. There are a lot of things to unlock as you level up but like the reviewer said, there could be more variety to the unlocks. It is very intense and pretty damn hard. If you're turned off by difficult games, don't get this.
Heck, for $20, it's not going to be as good as a full fledged game. You still get a very cool game that's fun to play though. Not many games like it.
If they program the mouse to work in the game at a software level, I'll be buying this. I seriously doubt that will happen though. That would require the original game makers to provide patches for all the old games.
By all means, tell me where the innovation is in BF3? I've played the beta and it's the same as BC2. The grenades even float in the air like wadded up paper balls like they did in BC2. Destruction was done in BC2. The two game types were done in BC2. The graphics may be better but what else? Seriously. What else? I don't give a shit about graphics at this point in gaming. There are diminishing returns on better graphics now. Try putting all that effort in making the game...
I'm pretty sure both games are getting "tired". COD is the same game as before and BF3 is nothing more than BC2 with prone and more vehicles.
Absolutely no innovation from either developer. They both need to shut up.

He's not that great of a person. Just because he was a great businessman, doesn't make him a great person. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are great men. They also happen to be great businessmen. People seem to love Jobs simply because of his products, yet they know nothing about him.
I truly hope in his will ...
You couldn't choose your server in MW2 on the PC. If you were put in a server with cheaters, the only option was to log out and try again, which in most cases, would just put you right back in the same game.
All I can say is, the anti-cheat better be different from MW2 because that game was a complete and utter joke. EVERY game had a cheater in it. No one even cared if they were caught because nothing would happen to them...at least that's how it was on the PC. Th...
I don't give a shit about graphics. What I do care about is innovation and fun, which BF3 sorely lacks. The fun can be debated as a matter of personal preference but there's no way anyone can honestly say BF3 is innovative. Everything in the game has already been done in other games. There's nothing new.
I REALLY wanted this game to be good but I can't stand it.
Graphics DON'T mean a great deal any longer. The Wii as well as the success of the low priced "arcade" games proved that. If you really think that then you're pretty superficial. We've reached a point where there's diminishing returns on advancing graphics. If you look at BC2's graphics and BF3's graphics, there is very little difference and the few differences don't change much, if anything, in terms of gameplay. You'll still play BF3 the same w...
If you think this is only going to affect a few thousand sales, you're sorely mistaken. It probably won't be a huge percentage but it's going to be more than a few thousand.
As far as the game goes, many of the complaints have nothing to do with the issues of an early build such as a beta. People are finding out that this game is little more than BC2.5. Other than slightly better graphics, prone, and more vehicles, I see nothing different from BC2. The grenade...
I find it hilarious that I've been saying for a while now that this game seems EXACTLY like BC2 with better graphics, more vehicles, and crouch and every time I would get blasted for it. Now many are saying the same thing.
There is NOTHING innovative about this game. I feel the same way about COD so don't worry BF fanboys. Neither game is doing anything to advance the FPS genre. And please don't say graphics and destructible environments are innovative becaus...
I know everyone is going to disagree but this game is way overhyped. I've played it and really don't like it at all. Nothing but BC2 with better graphics and more vehicles. Tons of spawn raping, camping, poor hit detection. Very disappointed.
Don't worry, I don't plan on buying MW3 either. That's just MW2 with the same graphics. I'm just surprised people don't demand innovation in their games. There's absolutely NONE in this game or MW...
How is this any different than BC2? Other than graphics and vehicles, I don't see much of a difference. Seriously, someone explain this.
I do think this is the direction Sony and MS will end up going in the future but the future isn't anywhere close when the ISP's don't offer the bandwidth necessary to near the amount of the country that it needs to.
That being said, when I tried it, you could only get 720p quality and it lagged. Pretty bad at times.
OnLive is going to need faster internet connections before they ever have a chance with their service.
BF3 is the perfect example of what 360ICE was talking about. Nothing but a sequel with lots of media hype behind it. It offers nothing in terms of innovation. Other than a few more vehicles and going prone, it's pretty much an exact copy of BC2. No one will ever admit to that but it is.
